RECAP | 2D UNCOMMITTED GAMES 2024
November 3rd, 2024
Last week we had our 2024 Uncommitted Games that was hosted at Youngsville Sports Complex. This invite-only event was the last showcase event of the year and the rosters did not disappoint. With over 40 top uncommitted players in attendance, along with 15+ college coaches from around the Southeast, this event was a fun one to watch. We take a look at some of the highlights and top performers.
POSITION PLAYERS
Kannon Templet (2026 - IF - Southside) was a name that stood out. Starting with a nice round of BP going to all fields, Templet continued to find barrels during the live game. Templet launched a HR to left and had multiple hits in game. With a consistent line drive approach, Templet was able to go gap to gap with strength with a Max Exit Velocity of 92.5mph. The middle infielder also made several plays at shortstop and showed quick feet and smooth actions.
Landry Smart (2026 - OF - Live Oak) had one of the better performances of the day. Smart posted a Max Exit Velo of 92.6mph during BP and show pull side pop. In game, Smart totaled 4 hits on the day including a 2B and a 3B off the wall down the left field line. Smart showed the ability to go the other way as well with a line drive hit to right center. The athletic outfielder was able to track down flyballs all day and can also play 1B.
Gabriel McKee (2025 - C - Rosepine) is one of the better defensive catchers in the 2025 class. With a 2.08 in game pop time, McKee was able to throw out a few runners trying to take a bag. During BP, McKee sent a ball well over the LF fence and was gap to gap with a Max Exit Velo of 93.3mph. Mckee showed the ability to control the run game and pitching staffs, and also be a vocal leader behind the dish.
Robert Adair (2026 - IF - Walker) made some noise at the plate. Adair's BP was a professional BP going gap to gap and showing good barrel awareness. Short to the ball and explosive back side. In live action, Adair sent multiple balls to the fence and recorded an in game Max Exit Velocity of 100.1mph that resulted in a double. Big time bat in the 2026 class.
Tyler Bickett (2025 - IF/RHP - Central Private) was a two way prospect that showed promise on both ends. During BP, balls were being sprayed to all fields and over the fence, with multiple 95+mph exit velo's with a max EV of 101mph. On the mound, Bickett was 82-85mph on the FB and plus split finger that had swing and miss ability.
PITCHERS
Gavin Foreman (2026 - RHP - Acadiana) Foreman started off the day on the mound and was impressive. FB was 86-89mph with plus arm side run with the 2 seam fastball. Swing and miss slider that sweeps out of the zone to RH batters and landed a few back foot sliders to LH hitters (2300+ RPM). Foreman was able to work both sides of the plate to both RH and LH hitters and got multiple strikeouts during live game action.
Hayes Mire (2025 - LHP - Kaplan) Mire arguably had the best day on the mound. The LHP dominated hitters in his outing with 6K in less than 3 innings of work. FB was sitting 85-87 topping out at 88 with arm side run. Controlled the strike zone as well with his breaking ball, that had sharp late action and swing and miss tendencies. Mire showed good rhythm and presence.
Maddox Ardoin (2025 - RHP - Sam Houston) Very intriguing prospect on the mound. Good frame and athletic. Ardoin settled in quickly and attacked hitters. FB was 83-86mph and topping out at 87. One of the best pitches he threw was a knuckleball that had downward movement (337 RPM) and it led to multiple swings and misses. Ardoin landed his slider (2500+ RPM) for a strike early in the count and was able to generate 4K in two innings of work.
Chase Stevens (2025 - RHP - Sulphur) Worked fast and was very effective. 82-85mph on the FB with arm side run, and was landing a swing and miss slider (2800+ RPM) (74-75mph) to hitters in his two innings of work. Stevens dominated the strike zone racking up 4 K's and weak contact.
Zant Gurney (2026 - LHP - Live Oak) Gurney sat 80-82mph on his FB and got a lot of swing and misses. Mixed in with a plus changeup that worked the bottom of the zone, Gurney had 7 K's in his 3 innings of work and was super efficient (32 pitches).
